VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee June 4, 2014 The June 4, 2014 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Phil Willems at 5:45 pm. PRESENT: Phil Willems, John Pomeranke, Mark Mathwig, Brian Malich, and Dave Jost. ALSO PRESENT: Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Streets and Parks Supervisor, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Mark Mathwig/Dave Jost to approve the minutes of the May 7, 2014 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Amplified Music Permit for Ripp Park, August 23, 2014 A motion by Mark Mathwig/John Pomeranke to approve the amplified music permit for Kyle Kraft/Crossfit Farmland – Ripp Park on August 23, 2014 was approved. 2. Consider Amplified Music Permit for Ripp Park on June 15, 2014. A motion by Brian Malich/Dave Jost to approve the amplified music permit for Grace Community Church – Ripp Park on June 15, 2014 was approved. 3. Consider Fitness Programming Permit in Peaceful Valley Park. A motion by Dave Jost/Mark Mathwig to approve the fitness programming permit for Sarah Homan – Peaceful Valley Park was approved. 4. Consider Fitness Programming Permit in Ripp Park. A motion by Mark Mathwig/Dave Jost to approve the fitness programming permit for Inspire 4 Fitness LLC/Karen Endres – Ripp Park was approved. 5. Consider Request from Waunafest for Park Use and Fee Waiver. A motion by Dave Jost/John Pomeranke to approve the park use request and the associated fee waiver for the 2014 Waunafest celebration was approved. Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – June 4, 2014 – page 2 6. Consider Qual Line Fence Proposal for Fence Repairs at Ripp Park. A motion by Mark Mathwig/Dave Jost to approve the proposal from Qual Line Fence for the replacement of fencing at the Ripp Park baseball diamonds was approved. 7. Consider Meadowbrook Park Shelter Proposal. A motion by Mark Mathwig/Brian Malich to submit this project to the Village Board for funding consideration in 2015 was approved. CORRESPONDENCE 1. Staff reported that the Village has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to help cover the costs of resurfacing three of the nine tennis courts in Ripp Park. 2. The new tennis ball recycling system has been installed in Ripp Park. A short story was included in the Waunakee Tribune in May.
