VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee July 6, 2016 The July 6, 2016 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Gary Herzberg at 5:45 pm. This was a joint meeting of the Westport and Waunakee Committees. PRESENT: Gary Herzberg, Chris Zellner, Susan Brown, John Pomeranke, Dave Jost and Brian Malich. ALSO PRESENT: Todd Schmidt – Village Administrator, Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor, Bill Frederick – Public Works/Streets Superintendent, Rick Moran – Public Works/Streets Forman, and Intern Zach Waala. MINUTES A motion by John Pomeranke / Dave Jost to approve the minutes of the June 1, 2016 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. OLD BUSINESS 1. Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan – Discussion/Recommendations The committee participated in a group discussion focusing on the community survey results, strengths of our park system and potential projects/priorities that might be included in the updated Comprehensive Park and Open Space Plan – no official action was taken. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Request from MAYSA for the Use of Ripp Park for the October 1. 2016 Fall Festival A motion was made by Susan Brown/Chris Zellner to approve the request by MAYSA for the use of Ripp Park for the October 1, 2016 Fall Festival. Shelter reservation fees $120 and a $700 refundable damage deposit will be charged. 2. Consider Re-Organization Proposal for the Community Services Department A proposal to re-organize the Community Services Department in 2017 has been prepared by staff and was presented at the meeting. A motion made by Dave Jost/John Pomeranke to recommend approval of the Community Services Department Reorganization Plan as presented by staff was approved.
