VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee October 5, 2016 The October 5, 2016 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Gary Herzberg at 5:45 pm. This was a joint meeting of the Westport and Waunakee Committees. PRESENT: Gary Herzberg, Chris Zellner, Susan Brown, John Pomeranke, Dave Jost and Brian Malich. ALSO PRESENT: Members of the Westport Park Committee, Andrew Bremmer – MSA Professional Services, Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor, Bill Frederick – Public Works/Streets Superintendent, Rick Moran – Public Works/Streets Forman. JOINT MEETING BUSINESS 1. Waunakee and Westport Park Committees Meet Jointly to Discuss Updates to the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. Andrew Bremmer let the joint committees through a review of the work to date on the update to the Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. He described in detail the meeting schedule for the next several months as the finishing touches are put on the plan. VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE BUSINESS MINUTES A motion by Dave Jost / Brian Malich to approve the minutes of the September 7, 2016 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. OLD BUSINESS 1. Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan – Discussion/Recommendations The committee discussed Section 6.2 – New Park Facilities. Discussion focused on improvements to be considered as new parks are developed in the Village. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider and Approve Park Shelter Rental Fees for 2017 Staff reviewed a report that was included in the packet relating to shelter rentals in the Village as well as fees charged by surrounding municipalities. A motion by Chris Zellner/Dave Jost to recommend that Park Shelter Fees in 2017 be set at $85 for residents and $125 for non-residents. The additional fee charged to utilize a concession area where available would be $50. There would be no difference in fees between weekdays and weekends.
