Parks and Recreation Committee
May 3, 2017
The May 3, 2017 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Gary
Herzberg at 5:35 pm.
PRESENT: Gary Herzberg, Chris Zellner, Phil Willems, Susan Brown, John Pomeranke, Dave
Jost and Bob Khouri.
ALSO PRESENT: Diane Pertzborn – 204 Fairbrook Drive, Sandy Treptow – 212 Fairbrook
Drive, Mary Gerardi – 138 Fairbrook Drive, Tim & Denise Hurlebaus – 208 Fairbrook Drive,
Christopher Graves – 136 Fairbrook Drive, Rebecca and Dave Cassel – 146 Fairbrook Drive, Bill

MINUTES
A motion by Phil Willems/Dave Jost to approve the minutes of the April 5, 2017
Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved.
PUBLIC COMMENT
All public comment related to items posted on the agenda.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Consider Strand Task Order for Feasibility Investigations for Sixmile Creek Path – Madison
Street to Fairbrook.
A motion was made by Dave Jost/John Pomeranke to recommend approval of
the Strand Task Order No 17-02 – Sixmile Creek Path Conceptual Design.
Motion was approved.
2. Consider Request from WaunaFest for Park Use and Associated Fee Waiver.
A motion by Chris Zellner/Phil Willems to approve the WaunaFest request for
park use and the associated waiver of park fees was approved.
3. Consider Amplified Music in the Parks Permit Requests.
A motion made by Susan Brown / Phil Willems to approve the Amplified Music
in the Parks Permits as presented by staff was approved.

4. Consider Request for Tournament Dates and Fee Waiver for the Waunakee Softball
Booster Club.
A motion by Chris Zellner / Phil Willems to approve the Waunakee Softball
Booster Club’s tournament on June 24-25 and the associated shelter fee waiver
was approved.
5. Consider Request from Relay for Life Committee for the Use of Ripp Park
A motion by Susan Brown/ Bob Khouri to approve the use of Ripp Park and the
associated shelter fee waiver for the Relay for Life event on June 16, 2017 was
approved.
6. Consider Request from WaunaBoom for the Use of Ripp Park on July 4, 2017
A motion by Phil Willems / John Pomeranke to approve the use of Ripp Park
and all of the associated fee waivers for the WaunaBoom Celebration to be
hosted on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 was approved.
7. Consider Parks PAYG Fund Project Updates
The Village staff team presented two additional projects – Meadowbrook Park Playground and
Park Impact Fee Update to be paid through the Parks PAYG Fund.
A motion by Dave Jost / Susan Brown to approve the updated Parks PAYG
Project List as proposed by staff was approved.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion by John Pomeranke / Susan Brown to adjourn was approved. (7:15
p.m.)
