VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee July 6, 2022 JOINT PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING The meeting was called to order by Gary Herzberg at 5:30 p.m. PRESENT – Gary Herzberg, Sam Kaufman, Phil Williams, Bob Khouri, Jon Pomeranke, and Tim Luttrell. ALSO PRESENT: Deb Endres – Friends of the Park Coordinator, Sue McDade – Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Director of Public Works, Ryan Endres – Public Works/Parks Supervisor, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Program Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Phil Willems/Sam Kaufmann to approve the minutes of the June 1, 2022, Park and Recreation Committee meeting was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT Bob Khouri asked that the results of the Strand study focusing on the 2021 Sixmile Creek Path Planning be presented to the committee. Tim Luttrell supported that request. PRESENTATIONS 1. Thank You to Deb Endres and the Friends of the Parks Volunteers A motion by Phil Willems/John Pomeranke to officially thank Deb Endres and all of the Friends of the Parks Volunteers for their endless hours helping to make our park signs beautiful was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider 2022 Parks PAYGO Project List Update Bob Khouri asked for more information about the proposed shelter project in Prairie Park and that the item be placed on a future agenda for further consideration. A motion by Phil Willem/Tim Luttrell to approve the 2022 Parks PAYGO Project List as presented by staff, holding the Prairie Park Shelter project for further consideration by the committee, was approved. 2. Consider Request for Fitness Programming in Village Park by Radiant Lotus Yoga & Wellness A motion by Sam Kaufmann/Bob Khouri to approve the Permit for Fitness Programming in Village Park by Radiant Lotus Yoga & Wellness, was approved. Consider Request for Amplified Music in the Village Park Gazebo – August 22, 2022 A motion by Phil Willems/Tim Luttrell to approve the request for Amplified Music Permit from the Waunakee Big Band for their concert in the park scheduled for Monday, August 22, 2022, was approved.
