VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee December 7, 2022 PRESENT – Sam Kaufman, Phil Williams, Bob Khouri, Susan Rather, John Pomeranke and Tim Luttrell. Sue McDade – Waunakee Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Waunakee Director of Public Works, Ryan Endres – Waunakee Public Works/Parks Supervisor, Jeff Karls – Waunakee Public Works/Parks Crew Leader, Jeff Skoug – Waunakee Recreation Program Supervisor. ALSO PRESENT: Emily Soderberg – Planner, MSA Professional Services. JOINT PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING 1. Joint Meetings of the Waunakee and Westport Park Committees – Review Preliminary Recommendations. The Joint Meeting of the two park committees did not take place due to a lack of a quorum. The Village of Waunakee Park and Recreation Committee and staff members discussed recommended updates/corrections with Emily Soderberg. No official action was taken. The next meeting of the joint committee is scheduled for January 4, 2023. WAUNAKEE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m. MINUTES A motion by Phil Willems/Tim Luttrell to approve the minutes of the October 5, 2022, Park and Recreation Committee meeting was approved. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Naming Park in the Heritage Hills Subdivision Sue McDade reported that working with the Breunig family, the team from Veridian recommends “Breu-Kal Farm Park”. This is pronounced “brew-cal” and mirrors the name of the farm that is being developed into this neighborhood. A motion by Phil Willems/Sam Kaufmann to approve naming the first park in Heritage Hills subdivision “Breu-Kal Farm Park.” ADJOURNMENT A motion by Phil Willems / Tim Luttrell to adjourn was approved.
