VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee November 5, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Sam Kaufmann at 5:30 p.m. PRESENT: Sam Kaufmann, Chris Zellner, Tim Luttrell, John Pomeranke, Phil Willems, Bob Khouri and Erin Moran. STAFF PRESENT: Sue McDade – Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – DPW Director, Ryan Endres, Public Works/Parks Superintendent; Jeff Karls – Public Works/Parks Crew Leader; Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor, Jared Heyn – Deputy Administrator. ALSO PRESENT: Katie McDonald, Parkitecture + Planning, Steve & Renee Furrer – 1214 Water Wheel Drive, Brian & Tiffany Nickel – 1132 Ireland Drive, Matthew Koch – 202 5th Street, David Hubbard – 1136 Ireland Drive, John Moeller – 6265 Woodland Drive, Harrison Stokes – 205 Bacon Street, Griffin Schumacher – 3809 Lexington Drive, Anderson See – 21 Fox Ridge Circle, Matt Sanger – 7659 Rilen Road, Ken Thue – 1128 Ireland Drive. VIA ZOOM: Nathan Bemo – American Ramp Company MINUTES: A motion by Phil Willems/Tim Luttrell to approve the minutes of October 1, 2025, Park and Recreation Committee meeting, was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments on non-agenda items. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Consider Draft Concept Plans for Water Wheel Park The team from Parkitecture + Planning reviewed the proposed development plan for the park. The plan is based on technical site data, a review of priorities included in the Village’s CORP Plan, direction form the Park and Recreation Committee, conversations with the subdivision developer and input provided by neighbors. The next step in the process will be a final presentation including cost opinions at a future meeting. That approved plan will be used to help determine timing for the project. There was no action taken at this meeting. Park and Recreation Committee Minutes – November 5, 2025 – pg. 2 2. Consider Lions Park Skate Park – Revised Design and Potential Recommendations of Phase 1 Implementation. The team from American Ramp Co. appeared and shared the updated plans with the Committee and the residents in attendance. There was a considerable amount of discussion and input from the skaters. The team from American Ramp offered to schedule a follow-up virtual meeting with the skating community to revise the plans which will then be presented at a follow-up meeting. No formal action was taken. 3. Consider Proposal from Parkitecture + Planning for Blue Ridge Park Conceptual Improvement Plan. Motion by Erin Moran/Phil Willems to recommend that the Village Board approve the Parkitecture + Planning Proposal for Blue Ridge Park.
