VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee June 6, 2018 The June 6, 2018 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Chris Zellner at 5:30 pm. PRESENT: Chris Zellner, Susan Brown, John Pomeranke, Susan Rather and Bob Khouri. ALSO PRESENT: Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Public Works/Parks Superintendent, Rick Moran – Public Works/Parks Forman, and Jeff Skoug – Recreation Program Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Bob Khouri/John Pomeranke to approve the minutes of the May 2, 2018 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. OLD BUSINESS 1. Consider Amplified Music Permit for WaunaBoom Celebration – Ripp Park – July 4, 2018 A motion made by Susan Brown / John Pomeranke to recommend approval of the Amplified Music Permit for WaunaBoom - Ripp Park – July 4, 2018 was approved. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Permit for Fitness Programming in Peaceful Valley Park by Tammy Greiber A motion by Bob Khouri/Susan Brown to approve the Permit for Fitness Programming in Peaceful Valley Park by Tammy Greiber was approved. 2. Consider Meadowbrook Park Shelter Bids A motion made by Chris Zellner/John Pomeranke to reject the bids for the Meadowbrook Park Shelter with the intent of rebidding later in the year was approved. 3. Consider Request from WaunaFest for Park Use and Associated Fee Waiver A motion made by Bob Khouri/Susan Brown to approve the WaunaFest request for park use and the associated fee waiver for the event was approved. CORRESPONDENCE Jeff Skoug reported that the Village of Waunakee was the lucky winner of the 2018 Great Play Giveaway – receiving a playground valued at approximately $25,000. The Village will be responsible for costs associated with delivery, installation and safety surfacing. Staff will report back to the committee as the details come together.
