BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Centennial Park Playscape Planning – Continued Conversation
Blake Theisen from Parkitecture+Planning was on hand to continue the planning
process for the playscape in Centennial Park. The first topic covered was the final site
layout. It was agreed that the playground will be placed in the area currently hosting
playground and splash pad will to the north of the shelter. The Parkitecture team lead
a discussion about theming for the park with all supporting a natural theme including
trees, flowers, and natural materials. Finally, based on materials supplied by interested
vendors, Landscape Structures, represented locally by Gerber Leisure Products, was
selected as the vendor for the playground.
2. Consider Donation Proposal for Permanent Lighting on the Village Park Main Shelter and
the Village Center.
Phil Willems shared his idea of providing permanent lighting on the Village Park – Main
Shelter and the Village Center. He has been raising private funds to cover the cost of this
project, with enough donations secured to cover the park shelter and the parks side of the
Village Center. He plans to continue his fundraising to finish the entire project by 2024.
