VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 5:30 p.m., at 500 W. Main Street, Waunakee, Wisconsin. CALL TO ORDER Acting Chairperson, Zellner, called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Present: Sue Springman, Gary Herzberg, Chris Zellner, Randy Bolger, Scott Meske, Brian Wallace, Paul Endres. Absent: None Also present: Kevin Even, Tracy Meinholz, Bill Frederick, Jim Madden, Mike Endres, Sue McDade, Henry Whyte. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Herzberg, second Meske, to approve the April 11, 2012 minutes. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION DISCUSSION OF REQUEST FOR STH 113 PEDESTRIAN CROSSING NORTH OF GOLF COURSE Mr. Even presented the requested cost estimate for the pedestrian crossing at STH 113 and Legends Drive. He also requested consideration of a similar crossing to be installed on the newly refinished Woodland Drive. Mr. Zellner arrived at 5:44 p.m. Motion Herzberg, second Wallace, to approve the installation of the pedestrian crossing at STH 113 at Legends Drive, and another on Woodland Drive at Tierney Drive. Motion carried. DISCUSSION OF LEXINGTON / DIVISION STREET MEDIAN Public Works Committee Minutes Page 1 of 2 Residents are requesting the removal of the median. It is no longer maintained by the residents as it used to be and the streets department has deemed it a hazard. Motion Wallace, second Meske, to proceed with the removal of the median at Lexington and Division at a cost not to exceed $7,000. Motion carried. CONSTRUCTION UPDATE ON 2012 PROJECTS (VERBAL) Mr. Madden gave a report on the ongoing 2012 projects including Westbridge, Westview Meadows and the Peaceful Valley Parkway intersection. DISCUSSION OF FIELD MAINTENANCE AND RELATED COSTS After discussion of offsetting ball diamond costs, the Committee deferred the item to the Finance Committee. DISCUSSION OF 2013 ROAD PROJECTS Mr. Even presented a draft 5 year budget plan for review. Motion Herzberg, second Wallace, to approve the 2013 projects as proposed. Motion carried. ADJOURN Motion Herzberg, second Wallace, to adjourn the meeting at 6:42 p.m. Motion carried.
