VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 6:00 p.m., at 500 W, Main Street, Waunakee, WI. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Springman, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Sue Springman, Gary Herzberg, John Laubmeier, Brian Wallace , Randy Bolger, Nila Frye. Absent: Paul Endres Also present: Kevin Even, Bill Frederick, Jim Madden, Tracy Meinholz, Chris Zellner. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Herzberg, second Wallace, to approve the March 31, 2015 minutes. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION Recommendation of Bid Award for 2015 Public Works Improvements Motion Herzberg, second Bolger, to recommend approval of the low bid from Parisi Construction to the Village Board. Motion carried 5-0-1 with Wallace abstaining. Discussion of Refuse and Recycling Request for Proposals Motion Laubmeier, second Frye, to approve moving forward with the request for proposals with the modifications recommended by Village Engineer. Motion carried. Discussion / Recommendation on Erosion Control Rebill and Outside Consulting Fees Issues Motion Bolger, second Wallace, to recommend Village Board approval of new permit fee schedule with the addition of square footage range for small, medium and large projects. Motion carried. Public Works Committee Minutes Page 1 of 2 Discussion / Recommendation on Quinn Drive Extension Engineering Proposal Motion Herzberg, second Bolger, to recommend proceeding with the MSA engineering proposal for the Quinn Drive extension. Motion carried. Discussion / Recommendation on Ash Tree Proposals Staff directed to draft a letter to homeowners and mark the trees proposed for removal this year. The public will be invited to an informational meeting on June 23, 2015. Presentation of 2013-2014 Biennial Stormwater Reporting Mr. Even handed out the report. Update on Madison Planning Organization Projects The members had a brief discussion on funding for future improvements. Discussion and Consideration of Flashing Speed indicator Sign on CTH Q Mr. Herzberg presented the request. Staff asked to bring back with a recommendation from the Police Department and a cost estimate. Discuss Purchase of Toolcat 5610 Tractor for Public Works Department Motion Frye, second Laubmeier, to recommend purchase as long as it doesn’t affect current budgeted amount. Motion carried.
