VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Tuesday, September 22, 2015, 6:00 p.m., at Waunakee Village Center 333 S. Madison Street, Waunakee, WI CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Springman, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Sue Springman, John Laubmeier, Brian Wallace, Paul Endres, Randy Bolger, Nila Frye. Absent: Gary Herzberg. Also present: Kevin Even, Bill Frederick, Jim Madden, Tracy Meinholz, Rick Moran, Tim Bolhuis, Roger Cole, Kent Straus, Randy Meffert, Michelle Kalscheuer. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Endres, second Springman, to approve the June 23, 2015 minutes. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION Discussion / Action Request by MnM’s Coffeehouse for a Pedestrian Crossing at Main Street and Klein Drive Mr. Even stated he was in favor of the crossing and presented the cost and State approval requirements. Staff directed to add item to list of possible budget items for next year and bring back for discussion. Discussion / Action on Snow Removal at Fire Station Randy Meffert presented the advantages of the agreement and members discussed. Motion Bolger, second Frye, to have staff draft simple agreement and verify with insurance that there is no liability issue. Motion carried unanimously. Public Works Committee Minutes Page 1 of 2  Discussion / Action on Refuse & Recycling Proposals for 2016-2020 After discussion of current contract and possible changes, motion Laubmeier, second Wallace, to accept the Pellitteri proposal for services. Motion carried unanimously. Motion Wallace, second Laubmeier, to stay with bi-weekly recycling pick up. Motion carried unanimously. Motion Frye, second Laubmeier, to go with a 5 year contract instead of a 10 year. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion / Action on Proposed Task Order for 2016 CTH Q Improvements Motion Bolger, second Endres, to recommend approval of Task Order No. 15-03 to Village Board as presented. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion / Action on Proposed Task Order for 2016 Fourth Street Improvements Motion Wallace, second Bolger, to recommend Village Board approval of Task Order No. 15-04 with the addition of the sidewalk repairs project and staff directed to bring back a list of possible minor construction projects for remaining budget allocations. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion / Action on Village Public Parking Capacity, Adequacy and Usage After discussion of some of the current uses within the Village’s public parking lots, Ms. Springman felt, and the Committee concurred that, the Economic Development staff should talk to the businesses. Discussion / Action on Proposed Village Hall Dumpster Enclosure This item was postponed due to budget issues. Discussion / Action on Proposed Sidewalk Repair Improvements See Fourth Street Improvements Agenda Item. ADJOURN Motion Bolger, second Springman, to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m. Motion carried.
