Village of Waunakee and Town of Westport Joint Plan Commission A regular meeting of the Waunakee/Westport Joint Plan Commission was held Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the Town of Westport Community Room, 5387 Mary Lake Road. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Members Present: Ken Sipsma, Dean Grosskopf, Pat McGowan, Mark McGuire, and Brad Zeman. Members Absent: John Van Dinter Also Present: Tom Wilson, Kevin Even, Tracy Meinholz, Brad Robinson, Aaron & Kendra O’Brien, Donna Dorn. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion McGowan, second Grosskopf, to approve the minutes from the March 11, 2014 meeting. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None NEW BUSINESS & DISCUSSION / ACTION INITIAL CONSULTATION ON A LAND DIVISION AND REZONE REQUEST BY DONNA DORN, MEFFERT ROAD, TOWN OF WESTPORT After a brief overview by Mr. Wilson the commission asked a few questions of the applicants. No action necessary at this time. Applicants encouraged to work with staff on details and formal filing of application. DISCUSSION / RECOMMENDATION ON WOODLAND DRIVE ROAD/TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS/GRANTS CONTRIBUTION, MARY LAKE ROAD TO CTH M The Town of Westport has received grant money to complete the Woodland Drive roadway and bike path from Mary Lake Road to CTH M. This is one of the pieces needed to connect the pathways to Governor Nelson State Park and eventually to Middleton. They are looking for assistance from the Village as this project has great benefits for Village residents as well as the Town. Motion McGuire, second McGowan, to recommend that the Village Board approve participation in the planning and consider a financial contribution to the project for 2016. Motion carried.
