Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee1 WI 53597-0472 July 2022 Fire District Meeting Minutes July 25, 2022 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Vice-Chairman Gary Endres. Roll call showed in attendance: John Cuccia, Gary Endres, Nila Frye, Phil Willems, Chief Dave Kopp, Asst. Chief Gary Hansen, Capt. Brian Adler, and Renee Meinholz. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson asked ifwe were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Phil Willems and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the June 2022 Meeting Minutes. Motion Carried. Bills: A motion was made by Phil Willems and a second was made by John Cuccia to approve the June 2022 bills as presented. Motion carried. Old Business: A. Engine 2 Loan - Gary Endres had asked what the remaining balance was on our Engine loan at the June meeting. Chief Kopp shared that the balance is currently $253,016 plus interest. New Business: A. Upcoming Events - Chief Kopp informed the board that the department has been asked to participate in several upcoming events. These include Waunafest, National Night Out, Waunaboom, Citizens Academy. He explained that we will have firefighters at each event, but it is becoming more difficult to get volunteers due to the number of events we are asked to participate in each year. B. Recruitment- Waunakee Board Representative Nila Frye asked ifwe could discuss different ideas on how to recruit new firefighters. After discussing different ideas, the fire department members will start with a social media post. Other Business: Fire Inspector's Report: Capt./lnspector Adler shared the June 2022 fire run report. Next Meeting: August 29, 2022 @ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station. Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Nila Frye and a second was made John Cuccia. Motion carried.
