Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee,Wl53597-0472 September 2022 Fire District Meeting Minutes September 26, 2022 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Chairman Jim Pulvermacher. Roll call showed in attendance: Jim Pulvermacher, Gary Endres, Nila Frye, Phil Willems, John Cuccia, Chief Dave Kopp, Asst. Chief Gary Hansen, Capt. Brian Adler, and Renee Meinholz. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Phil Willems anda second was made by Nila Frye to approve the August 2022 Meeting Minutes. Motion Carried. Bills: A motion was made by Phil Willems and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the August 2022 bills as presented. Motion carried. Old Business: A. 2023 Budget - Chief Kopp presented the 2023 budget and showed the board where the increases were. Firetruck replacement was the largest increase and due to raffle revenue beinglost, an incidental line was added. Discussion of an additional fulltime person was discussed as well. A motion was made by Phil Willems and a second was made by Jim Pulvermacher to accept the 2023 Fire District Budget. Motion carried. B. Citizens Academy - There are 11 community members that are going through the class and wehave received nothingbut positive feedback. Chief Kopp recommended the class to the board members, but participants must live in the Village. New Business: A. Pancake Breakfast & Open House - Chief Kopp informed the board that the Department will again be hosting the pancake breakfast on Sunday, October 161h . Other Business: Paul Cardarella, State Bank of Cross Plains, was in attendance to discuss rates and options for the district accounts. The board discussed saving for vs. borrowing for future truck purchases. They also discussed insuring the money. Gary Endres asked that the board review rates on an annual basis. Fire Inspector's Report: Capt/Inspector Adler shared the August 2022 fire run report. He also stated that the FD members willbe starting their fire prevention and safety presentations during fire prevention week. Next Meeting: October 31, 2022 @ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station.
