Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee,Wl53597-0472 December 2022 Fire District Meeting Minutes December27.2022 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Chairman Jim Pulvermacher. Roll call showed in attendance: Jim Pulvermacher, Gary Endres, Nila Frye, Phil Willems, John Cuccia, Chief Dave Kopp, Asst. Chief Gary Hansen, Capt. Brian Adler, and Renee Meinholz. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Nila Frye and a second was made by Phil Willems to approve the November 2022 Meeting Minutes. Motion Carried. Bills: A motion was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the November 2022 bills as presented. Motion carried. Old Business: A. Additional Full-Time Employee - Retired Madison Fire Chief, Steven Davis, was in attendance and stated that he would be withdrawing his name as a possible consultant for the district in regards to evaluatingstaffing needs. Chief Davis was asked his opinion on what the district should do, and he believed that a full-time Fire Chief should behired to initially concentrate on recruitment, retainment, and budgeting. Establishing legalities and policies would follow. Gary Endres asked Chief Davis his thoughts on combining services with the EMS and he stated that he wasn't in a position to share any data on that topic. Chairperson Pulvermacher shared that legal advice is available to the board through the Towns Association and the League of Municipalities. New Business: A. None Other Business: None Fire Inspector's Report: Capt/Inspector Adler shared the November 2022 fire run report. Next Meeting: January 30, 2023 @ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station.
