Waunakee Public Library Library Board Meeting Friday, October 11, 2024- 7:45AM 201 N. Madison Street, Conference Room I. Call to order: Cathy Sheffield called the meeting to order at 7:45 AM II. Roll Call: A. Roll call: Present: Cathy Sheffield, Melissa Hill, Jean Elvekrog, Kathy Grosskopf, Annie Ballweg, Carolina Quintana-Kuether, Library Director Erick Plumb. Absent: Sam Kaufmann B. Guests: No III. Public Comment No public comment IV. Approval of the consent agenda Jean made a motion to approve. Cathy seconded. Passed. V. Director’s Report Held interviews this week for two new Library Assistants. Jeff Curwick will be leaving WPL on October 18. Amy Sampson and Beth Meyer have begun working in their new positions. Mobile Glass will be giving us estimates for possibly enclosing the Tech Hub and/or enclosing or reimaging the Den space. VI. Old Business A. Introduction of Village Facility Manager Jeff Witt and discussion about maintenance priorities for 2025 Jeff laid out his vision for how he would like his department to operate going forward. The Board shared what needs we have from Jeff and the maintenance department. Jeff answered questions from the Board. We look forward to working with Jeff. B. Friends of the Library Update There will be a patriotic themed bake sale the morning of the election, so that people may buy baked goods while they are waiting in line to vote in Community Hall. The Friends will be having a social event to make crafts out of tea cups. C. Update on Strategic Plan progress We went through four line items that have not been addressed to discuss what the original thought process was behind the individual plans. We will bring back to discuss further at another meeting. VII. New Business A. Review Appropriate Behavior Policy Kathy made a motion to approve with discussed changes. Melissa seconded. Passed.
