AYES: AHEARN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, CAHOON, DRISSELL, EVANS, MANN NOES: NONE The September 5, 2017 minutes were approved as submitted. APPROVAL OF PRESTON JACKSON SCULPTURE FOR BARBRE PARK The Commission discussed the proposed sculpture by Preston Jackson for Barbre Park. A motion was made by Ms. Evans, seconded by Ms. Bakker, to approve the 11-foot sculpture at a cost of $150,000 and send it to the City Council for approval, with a base to be determined. Members Voting: AYES: AHEARN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, CAHOON, DRISSELL, EVANS, MANN NOES: NONE POETRY WEEK/ LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS RECEPTION The Commission discussed upcoming events for Poetry Week. Speakers for the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Reception are set. Available members will come to help set up early. The next meeting of the Commission will be Tuesday, November 7 at 7:30 a.m. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
