There will be light refreshments served. Preston Jackson the artist of record for the sculpture will be at the event to discuss the creative process. I will give a sales pitch to purchase engraved memorial pavers that will be added to the walkways of the park. Funds for those pavers will help go towards the sculpture. The sculpture is estimated to cost $150,000 plus an additional $25,000 in installation, electric hookups and lighting. Donations from the pavers will go towards these costs. GRG is underway with the construction of the Deer Creek Trail. Two weeks ago, they started tree pruning and removals in the first areas they are working in. They should start excavation work end of next week. They are hoping to get most of the trial from Lorraine Davis Park to the intersection of Glen Rd. and Marshall Ave. installed before winter shuts them down for the season. This will not include the bridge over Deer Creek or the new pavilion in Lorraine Davis Park. Owen Properties has completed their portion of the renovations for the Marshall Avenue Trailhead. GRG should be closing on the purchase of that property any day. GRG should complete their renovations by next summer. Suggestion was made to check the Weeping Willow trees in that area. The Glen Park playground has been a huge hit. Lots more people in this park than ever before. We are still working on the shade structure that will be installed probably early spring. My staff is doing a big storm water improvement to Lockwood Park. We were getting quite a bit of erosion off the hillside, so we are putting in a lot of stones and boulders to channel the water where we want it to go and slow it down. Staffing.
