December 10, 2024, 6:30 PM

Members Present: Angela Thompson; Carol Duenke, Vice Chair; Dr. Brian Bergfeld: Susanne
Indelicato; Hilary Perkins; John Pierce; and Jean Spurr
Members Absent: Dr. Jason Vasser-Elong
Others Present: Karen Alexander, City Council Liaison; Robert Myers, Planning and
Development Director.
Roll Call - The meeting was called to order at 6:30PM by Chair Angela Thompson.
Approval of minutes – A motion was made by Commissioner Bergfeld and seconded by
Commissioner Indelicato to approve the October 8th, 2024, as written. Upon a vote, the motion
passed unanimously.

New Business
a) 112 Oakwood Ave: Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish a single-family dwelling
under Section 52.282 of the City Code.
The commissioners had no comments or concerns about the request to demolish this
property.
Chair Thompson asked for a motion to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness to
demolish this single-family dwelling. A motion was made by John Pierce and
seconded by Commissioner Doug Stanley, to approve the application.
b) 610 Cornelia Ave: Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish a single-family dwelling
under Section 52.282 of the City Code.
After a brief discussion all the commissioners agreed that this was a little home that
had suffered a fire that had burned up through the roof truss, along with basement
mold and water damage; this is simply a home in overall poor condition.
Chair Thompson asked for a motion to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness to
demolish this single-family dwelling. A motion was made by Carol Duenke and
seconded by Commissioner Sue Indelicato,
Old Business
Mr. Myers requested that everyone help spread the word and encourage people to do the
survey online (journeytowg.com) among residents and businesses regarding the
comprehensive plan. This survey asks people about their preferences, interests and values for
the City of Webster Groves.
Council Liaison Alexander stated there were no additional updates from the council regarding
the comprehensive plan.
Chair Thompson opened the conversation to make selections for a subcommittee. It was
explained that there must be a quorum of at least (4) members, and minutes should be taken
providing a summary to report information back to the general commission. After a short
discussion the volunteers are as follows.

Mr. Myers shared an update on positions for the commission as well as the position of City
Planner for the Planning and Development Department. He talked about streamlining
processes and how the boards seem to overlap in a way currently. He spoke on the possible
chances of reducing the projects that actually, come before the boards and commissions by
addressing things in his department first. Last, Mr. Myers shared he will be soon leaving the
City of Webster to return to his previous position as Director of St Charles County.
Meeting adjournment
Chair Thompson adjourned the meeting at 7:51PM. The next regularly scheduled meeting of
the Historic Preservation Commission is Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
