OLD BUSINESS Streetscape Update – MoDOT has given final approval of the Streetscape detail drawings. Construction will start in the spring. The recent work conducted by Missouri American Water will have the temporary pavement until then. Construction oversight will be handled by Webster Groves City staff. NEW BUSINESS Webster-Kirkwood Times – Now that the Times is back in print, Commission Members reaffirmed the previously budgeted funds to subsidize District ads in the gang-page style fall ads and the holiday gift guide as in the past. The “reborn” Times reborn no longer includes the South County Times or the West End Word that were also part of the “old” Times. Fall Festival – In the past Civil Alchemy organized a Fall Festival on the south public parking lot. This year’s pandemic environment makes holding such an event problematic. Page 1of 2 Holiday Plans – Santa’s Mailbox will be put in the gazebo in Gazebo Park as usual and a generic “Shop in Old Orchard” will be included in the banner section of the Webster- Kirkwood Times District gang-page ads. No other special holiday-related happenings, activities, or promotions are planned. Rooftop Lighting Project – Installation of rooftop lighting on additional businesses is set to go. Mara Perry just needs to know which buildings to schedule next; she will email information to all Commission Members so they can reach out to building owners to determine which ones to schedule. CITY UPDATE • The Annex in Old Orchard will be opening soon. • Guerrilla Street Food is reformatting their business, they have closed all locations except the one in Old Orchard. • Resurfacing and restriping of the public parking lot has been completed. • Missouri American Water’s project in Old Orchard has completed. • Pacific Place in Old Orchard has requested rezoning to Planned Commercial. • Firenza Pizza in Old Webster will not be reopening. • The second building to be constructed on the Regions Bank location in Old Webster has requested a change in their CUP to add a small coffee shop which isn’t part of their current CUP. • A virtual town hall is scheduled to present the proposed redevelopment plan for North Old Webster. • Union Bagels in Crossroads still plans to open. • City staff is working on text amendments for single-family residential structures to two-family to add to affordable housing options. • Amendments for parking codes will be before the next City Council. • The ARB has had 124 projects since January; 13 new homes.
