CALL TO ORDER Chair Cleveland called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Jane Cleveland, Dr. Sergio Guerreiro, Robert Bushey, and Carlos Arellano were present. Dr. Kristy Lund arrived late, and Dr. Rachel Eidelman and Kathleen Gannon-Ledsome had excused absences. Staff present: Robert Basehart, Michael O'Dell, and Ryan Harding. II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE III. REMARKS BY COMMITTEE CHAIR Ms. Cleveland stated there have been a lot of questions regarding a permit for construction at the International Polo Club and asked Mr. Basehart for an explanation. Mr. Basehart stated the construction that is being done is with a Land Development Permit from Wellington's Engineering Department to build a temporary stadium. It will consist of earthwork, drainage, a ring, bleachers, and lighting. The lighting permit has not been issued. An inspector from the Engineering Department visited the site the day before and said that all work being done is consistent with the permit. There are no stalls associated with the permit. Ms. Cleveland then went over each comment that was provided at the Equestrian Preserve Owners' Open Forum from the previous week. IV. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS/REORDERING OF AGENDA There were no changes to the agenda. V. EPC-178 Equestrian Plan of Action - Final Recommendation from the Equestrian Preserve Committee Glen Fleisher of 15635 Palma Lane stated he does not believe horses and planes should be together. Mike Nelson of 13650 Columbine Avenue stated the community needs to be aware of water quality issues, and make sure that water being pumped into Basin A from Basin B is not harmful. William McCue of 11564 White Marsh Drive thanked the committee for understanding the juxtaposition they are in with trying to maintain a Village of Wellington Page 1 Equestrian Preserve Committee Action Summary April 4, 2018 world-class standard and simultaneously not overdeveloping. It is the most difficult thing to balance. Dr. Guerreiro made a motion to recommend approval of the Equestrian Plan of Action. The motion was seconded by Mr. Bushey, and it passed 4-0. Mr. Arrellano abstained from voting stating, as a new member of the committee, he was not familiar enough with the plan to vote. Dr. Eidelman and Ms. Gannon-Ledsome had excused absences. VI. STAFF COMMENTS There were no staff comments. VII. BOARD COMMENTS Dr. Lund asked if a manure collection site was being started in Wellington. Mr. O'Dell replied, a temporary permit for a collection facility was granted at the corner of 50th Street and South Street at the beginning of the season, but it never got off the ground. VIII.
