PR-060 Election of Chair/Vice Chair Mr. DeLaney opened the floor for nominations for Chair and Vice Chair for the new term. Mr. Forgione nominated Dr. Falzone for Chair and Mr. Buckstein gave the second. The nomination was passed 4-0. Mr. Forgione nominated Ms. Shockley for Vice Chair Mr. Buckstein gave the second. The nomination passed 4-0. PR-061 Select Background Check Sub-Committee Mr. DeLaney explained that the sub-committee was necessary due to the provision in the policy that allows volunteers to appeal to the committee in the event they are removed for a qualifying event. Ms. Shockly suggested the 3 gentlemen in attendance serve as the committee. All agreed that Mr. Forgione, Mr. Coleman and Mr. Buckstein would serve as the background check sub-committee. II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Ms. Shockley led the Pledge of Allegiance. III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mr. Forgione made a motion to approve the agenda. The agenda was approved 4-0. IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES PR-062 Approval of Minutes 3-5-18 Mr. Forgione made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. The minutes were approved 4-0. V. PRESENTATION VI. STAFF UPDATES PR-063 Staff Updates Mr. DeLaney explained for the new members that the PRAB was chosen by the Council as the citizen oversight committee for the Surtax projects and that they would be receiving information as the projects move along. He mentioned that there would be a more complete report at the next meeting. Village of Wellington Page 1 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Action Summary June 4, 2018 Ms. Shockley asked if the new members could have a copy of the information that was originally distributed and Mr. DeLaney said staff would make sure they had it. Mr. DeLaney also announced that the Pickle Ball program was going well and that there would be free clinics offered in the near future. Ms. Shockley suggested that those committee members that use social media should consider helping to promote events such as this. He also mentioned that staff had talked to representatives from Homeland Security regarding them giving a presentation to sports leagues on the subject of safety in the parks. He invited the committee to attend once the date is set. Mr. DeLaney explained that the Lakeside events were very successful and that the kayak and paddleboard provider would be making rentals available through the summer. Ms. Shockley asked if the Lakeside events would return after the summer and Mr. DeLaney said that at this time the plans were for the events to return. VII. OLD BUSINESS VIII. NEW BUSINESS IX. PUBLIC COMMENT X. BOARD COMMENTS Mr. Fogione was grateful that he was selected to serve again and that it was very important to him. Mr. Coleman said he was excited for the chance to serve on the committee and to learn more about Parks and Recreation. Mr. Buckstein welcomed Mr. Coleman. Ms. Shockley thanked the staff for all of the hard work they do and was grateful for being selected as well. XI. CLOSING COMMENT XII. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:21pm.
