APPROVAL OF AGENDA This was approved III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES This was approved SAC15-001 Approve previous meeting minutes - 11-13-14 IV. PRESENTATION SAC15-002 Senior Club Update Howard Trager gave a presentation and updates on the Wellington Senior Club. The Committee voted unanimously to accept the report. SAC15-004 Park Rangers Mr. DeLaney gave an overview of what the Park Rangers are responsible for in the Village including providing a presence and educate citizens as well as securing facilities. He explained there are 2 part time rangers and one full time. Ms. Zimmerman asked if they can give out tickets and Mr. DeLaney answered no. She asked if alcohol is allowed at events. Mr. DeLaney explained that some events sell beer and wine. Mr. Trager asked if they can contact PBSO. Mr. DeLaney explained they use telephones to contact law enforcement. Mr. Fransetta confirmed that vendors selling alcohol are in compliance with the law and agrees with the way the programs are being run. Mr. Trager asked if there were plans for expansion. Mr. DeLaney explained there were no plans currently. Mr. Ernie Zimmerman asked why we have rangers if they cant give tickets or have more power than a regular employee. He would also like the ranger program to be presented to the Safety Committee. Mr. Fransettas asked about appearance. Mr. DeLaney explained they are in uniform. SAC15-005 Senior Services Update Meridith Tuckwood gave a presentation on Senior Services/Community Services specifically updates on programs currently offered. Topics covered included the home repair program funded by CDBG funds, Senior Symposiums, needs assessments, senior housing survey. Village of Wellington Page 1 Senior Advisory Committee Action Summary February 12, 2015 Mr. Trager offered to include symposiums in the Golden Banner. Mr. Fransetta complimented the department on their outreach. V. OLD BUSINESS SAC15-003 Wellington Green Park Discussion Mr. Fransetta began discussion concerning sites available including Wellington Green Park to be available for senior housing and would like to hear a motion to that affect. Mr. Nebb made a motion to affirm the committees desire to have senior housing on the Wellingon Green site. The motion was seconded by Nancey Tanner. Mr. Nebb appreciated support from Councilman Green concerning senior housing. A vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously VI. NEW BUSINESS Ms. Lascola asked about a rumor that the old Boys and Girls Club to be a senior center. VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS No public comments VIII. BOARD COMMENTS Mr. Trager thanked Ms. Tuckwood for the work they are doing for seniors in the community. Ms. Zimmerman also thanked Ms. Tuckwood. Ms. Tanner mentioned she looked forward to working with senior services. IX. CLOSING COMMENTS X.
