1. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Mayor Schneider opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. ROLL CALL

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Motion by Feron, 2nd by Bughman to approve the minutes from the May 19, 2025
meeting. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.
4. FINANCIAL REPORTS – Motion by Hartman, 2nd by Rowland to approve the expenses and pay the bills. Roll call
vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.

5. COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR, COUNCIL, AND VILLAGE OFFICIALS
Mayor Schneider
Law Director Bond – Mr. Bond reported that he will be retiring at the end of the month. Mayor Schneider
congratulated Mr. Bond on his retirement, and thanked him for his years of service to the Village.
Motion by Hartman, 2nd by Rowland to accept Mr. Bond’s retirement resignation, with regret. Roll call vote
was taken with all members voting “yes”. Mr. Hartman thanked Mr. Bond for his time with the Village, and
wished him well.
Chief McPike – Nothing to report.
Finance Director Pfeiffer – Nothing to report.
Village Manager Greever – Mr. Greever stated that he would stand on his report, and offered to answer
any questions. He answered questions from Mr. Bughman regarding sidewalk and yard damage by fiber
installers. He answered questions from Mr. Hartman regarding TC Energy’s gas line installation error on
Village property.
Main Street Wellington – MSW Director Arntz reported on new businesses, and their grand opening
dates. She mentioned upcoming events including a Bee City Festival, Wild in Wellington, and July 3 and
4 festivities.
6. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Finance – Mr. Hartman reported that the committee will meet on July 16, prior to council. He mentioned
that Council will meet for a work session on June 9.
Police – Mr. Rowland reported that the committee will meet on July 16, prior to council.
Public Works – Ms. Dronsfield reported that the committee met this evening, prior to council. She
mentioned that Supt. Brasee updated the committee on basic duties, including the mowing of eight weed
letter properties, and reminded residents not to mow grass clippings into the streets. She mentioned that
they were working with a leak detection company, as the Village is losing approximately 28,000 gallons
per day. She further mentioned that 9 water leaks had been repaired, and reported that the roof on Fire
Station #1 had been replaced. Mr. Hartman thanked the WFD for paying for one half of the roof
replacement on the Fire Station.
Utility – Mr. Bughman reported that the committee met prior to council where Supt. Bealer updated the
committee on the recent outage, which was due to an Ohio Edison drop, and the Electric Dept. hung over
100 Home Town Hero banners. He mentioned Supt. Love reported that 1,975 AMI meters have been
installed, and the raw water line replacement will take place in 3-4 weeks. Mr. Bughman reported that
WW Supt. Norton mentioned that US Screen is building an auger for the wastewater plant.
Ordinance – Mr. Feron mentioned that the committee will meet on June 16 prior to council. He reported
that the Cemetery Board have applied Wet and Forget on headstones at the W. Herrick Cemetery. He
mentioned that the pollination garden was completed at the Cemetery, where plants were supplied by
Hooks Greenhouse, with planting help from the Wellington Kiwanis.
Personnel – Mr. Boham reported that the committee met prior to council. Motion by Boham, 2 nd by
Dronsfield to hire part time dispatcher Amanda Swanson at $19.41 per hour, effective after passing
testing. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.
Council Work Session – Motion by Hartman, 2nd by Feron to hold a Council Work Session on June 9, at
5:00 PM in council chambers. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.
7. PUBLIC COMMENTS & QUESTIONS
(5 Minutes Per Person For Questions & Comments)
Oberlin Municipal Court’s lead prosecutor Farah Emeka was in attendance to introduce herself to Village Council, as
she won the November Democratic primary for Oberlin Municipal Court Judge. She will be on the ballot for
November’s general election. She told the audience about herself, answered questions from council, and asked for
the Villages support on November 4. Mr. Hartman thanked her for being present in different settings, and invited her
to come back to visit Wellington.
Wellington Kiwanis – Brian Burke reported that the Kiwanis put out 225 flags for Memorial Day weekend. He
mentioned that 100% of the profits from the Parade of Flags goes to the Union School Park playground fund, which
has approximately $75,000. He thanked council for sponsoring the Parade of Flags.
8. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2025 ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE TO MAKE/REFLECT
CORRECTED CHANGES IN THE ANTICIPATED REVENUES, AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE
DATE 1st Reading
(Requesting suspension of the rules)
Motion by Rowland, 2nd by Feron to suspend the rules. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. Motion
by Rowland, 2nd by Feron to approve as read. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes.
9. OLD BUSINESS - None
10. NEW BUSINESS
Tour of Fairground Facility – Mr. Bughman reported that they received a tour of the new fair building, which was
impressive. Mr. Feron mentioned that the Fair Board has a lot of shows lined up, and Mr. Boham mentioned that the
building is very large, approximately 66,000 sq. ft. There was some discussion concerning the new building.
