Village of Wellington Council Work Session Minutes Hans Schneider, Mayor Council: President Gene Hartman, Stephen Boham, Mark Bughman, Helen Dronsfield, Gary Feron, Keith Rowland Council Chambers June 9, 2025 5:00 PM 1. Pledge of Allegiance – Mayor Schneider called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance 2. Brasee, Electric Supt. Bealer, Water Supt. Love, WW Supt. Norton, Clerk of Council O’Brien, Kevin Shebesta, Derek Brasee, Nathan Meyers, Chad Riff 3. Work Session Topic: Continued Review of the Classification and Compensation Study  Plan Review & Discussion with the Village’s Employee Compensation Consultant, Mr. Kevin Shebesta, Account Manager of Clemans-Nelson & Associates, Inc. – Mr. Greever introduced Kevin Shebesta from Clemans-Nelson to council. Mr. Greever briefly explained the process of the data collection, pay range information, reviewed the point factoring information, and municipalities used for comparisons. Mr. Shebesta reported on data collection from certain municipalities that were compatible by population, size, income tax rates, and median household income. He discussed his point factoring system, where to group jobs together for pay ranges, and staying inside the 10% range variance. There was much discussion concerning tiered systems and pay range systems with minimum/maximum wages. After much discussion council decided that they would like to move from the tier system to the range system; Mr. Greever will re-tool the tiered system to the range system and have that ready for council’s review at the June 16 meeting.  Executive Session – to discuss the compensation of specific Village Employees – Motion by Rowland, 2nd by Hartman to enter into executive session to discuss the compensation of specific Village employees at 6:51 PM. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. Mayor Schneider called the meeting to order at 7:36 PM. Motion by Dronsfield, 2nd by Hartman to return to regular session. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. 4. Adjournment – Motion by Feron, 2nd by Bughman to adjourn at 7:37 PM
