1. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Mayor Schneider called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Motion by Feron, 2nd by Bughman to approve the minutes from the June 2, 2025
meeting, and the June 9, 2025 council work session. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.
4. FINANCIAL REPORTS – Motion by Hartman, 2nd by Rowland to approve the expenses and pay the bills. Roll call
vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.

5. COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR, COUNCIL, AND VILLAGE OFFICIALS

Law Director Bond – Nothing to report
Chief McPike – Nothing to report
Finance Director Pfeiffer - Absent
Village Manager Greever – Mr. Greever mentioned that he had nothing to add to his report, and reminded
council that there is only one meeting in July, on July 14, where they would hold all committee meetings.
There was some discussion concerning the water treatment plant construction, and possible
repercussions to the insurance company, as they are not replying to email communications. Mr. Bond
suggested using language such as, as of today the time it would take us to complete the project is
beyond the deadline we have agreed upon, the responsibility to meet the deadline is now on you; Mr.
Greever will use a variation of that in his next email.

6. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Finance – Mr. Hartman reported that the committee met prior to council and discussed the May financials,
which are doing well, RITA collections are down 11.7%, and health insurance is up 10.5%.
Police – Mr. Rowland reported that the committee met prior to council and discussed monthly stats,
vehicle usage, and OT and PT hours which are on a positive trend. The zone car project has been
completed and all of the vehicles have been upgraded. He reminded residents to be observant at the
crosswalks for pedestrians, and advised bicycle riders to wear reflective clothing at night. Mayor
Schneider reminded residents that there is no bicycle riding or skateboard riding on the downtown
sidewalks.
Public Works – Ms. Dronsfield reported that the committee will meet July 14, prior to council.
Utility – Mr. Bughman reported that the committee will meet July 14, prior to council.
Ordinance – Mr. Feron reported that the committee will meet on July 14, prior to council. He reported that
the cemetery board has good summer employees this year. Mr. Feron mentioned that they had a state
hearing regarding a claim that the cemetery mishandled a burial, the state ruled that there is no evidence
to support the claim that the cemetery did anything wrong.
Personnel – Mr. Boham reported that the committee met prior to council. Motion by Boham, 2 nd by
Dronsfield to hire Gianni Bonidie, seasonal summer employee for the water department at $11.00 per
hour effective June 16, 2025. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. Motion by Boham,
2nd by Rowland to accept the resignation of officer Daniel Angelo, effective June 26, 2025, and to accept
the resignation of Jolene Gonzales effective July 7, 2025. Roll call vote was taken with all members
voting “yes”.

8. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
Ordinance No. 2025-24
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2024-42 AND THE RELATED CONTRACT, RELATIVE TO THE
APPOINTMENT OF THE VILLAGE DIRECTOR OF LAW AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE
(Requesting suspension of the rules) 1st Reading
Motion by Hartman, 2nd by Feron to suspend the rules. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”. Motion
by Rowland, 2nd by Bughman to approve as read. Roll call vote was taken with all members voting “yes”.
9. OLD BUSINESS – None
10. NEW BUSINESS
Coffee with the Mayor – Mayor Schneider invited residents to join him at Coffee with the Mayor at Bread-N-Brew on
Saturday June 21.
Thank You – Mayor Schneider congratulated Law Director Bond on his retirement after 50 years practicing law, and
27 years with the Village. He appreciated Mr. Bond’s guidance over the years. Mr. Hartman stated that he slept easier
at night with Mr. Bond as counsel, and how he has been a blessing for the Village. Mayor Schneider asked Mr. Bond
what was the biggest change to law that he saw in his career; Mr. Bond replied computers, which were handier than
libraries. Mr. Bond began his career in law as a law clerk for the City of Parma. Council thanked Mr. Bond for his hard
work over the years, and expressed that he will be missed.
MSW – Mr. Bughman reported that Main Street Wellington is in need of volunteers for the Gone Wild pet event, and
the July 3&4 events. He mentioned that they are also in need of donations for their Bee City alley mural.
