Weigel Excused 1- Ald. Probst C. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ald. Barczak. D. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. R-2014-0007 Resolution to confirm and adopt the report of the Director of Public Works/City Engineer containing the schedule of proposed assessments for improvement of S. 76 St. from W. Pierce St. to W. Greenfield Ave. and portions of intersecting streets by major asphalt resurfacing with miscellaneous sidewalk repair, sanitary sewer relay, building services and utility adjustments. Sponsors: Public Works Committee Explanation by Peter Daniels, Principal Engineer. Appearances: Joseph Ticcioni, 1321 S. 76 St., asked about State Fair funding of the improvement, and he commented on the rate, the amount of traffic, and that the street services many. Jeanna Barney, 1334 S. 76 St., asked about higher taxes on S. 76 St., and said that the road is used by everybody. She requested other consideration be looked at. Dan Pape, 1030 S. 76 St., asked about using concrete and life expectancy. Mary Gonzalez, 1313 S. 76 St., asked about repairs to the sewer and life expectancy. Barbara Hart, 1040 S. 76 St., addressed her concerns about the sewer pipes leading to the home, and prefers replacement. E. Vliet St., commented on protesting Lady Gaga coming to Summerfest. F. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RECESS MEETINGS OF STANDING COMMITTEES Mayor Devine announced that the following Committees would meet during recess: Administration & Finance, Public Works, Safety & Development, License & Health, and Advisory. G. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Devine congratulated Bill Koehn who celebrated his 100th birthday. He announced the Youth Commission's Candidate Forum scheduled for February 3rd at 6:30 pm relative to the vacancy in the 5th aldermanic district. He reported that Candy Cane Lane raised over $85,000 for the MACC Fund and cancer research. He announced that the ice rink at LaFollette Park has been repaired. He congratulated Citlali Ramos of Antigua, and Ald. Michael May, traffic engineer, for being named in the Business Journal's 40 Under 40. H. ALDERPERSON'S REPORT None. I.
