City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Common Council Mayor Dan Devine, Chair Alderperson Thomas G. Lajsic, Council President Alderpersons: Gary T. Barczak, Michael J. Czaplewski, Kevin Haass, Michael P. May, Rosalie L. Reinke, Daniel J. Roadt, Tracy Stefanski, Vincent Vitale, and Martin J. Weigel Wednesday, April 8, 2020 5:00 PM City Hall, Common Council Chambers 7525 W. Greenfield Avenue SPECIAL MEETING Notice of Virtual Meeting The City of West Allis is held the Common Council meeting virtually to help protect our community from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. (This means no one will be permitted inside the City Hall to view the meeting.) A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mayor Devine at 5:00 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 10 - Ald. Barczak, Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. May, Ald. Haass, Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Reinke, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Stefanski, Ald. Vitale, and Ald. Weigel Also Present: Rebecca Grill, City Administrator. C. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ald. May. D. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Devine thanked everyone for their work with the April 7, 2020 Spring Primary. E. ALDERPERSON'S REPORT Ald. May thanked everyone for the last eight (8) years. F. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 1. O-2020-0012 Ordinance to Amend Section 6.02(3)(a) of the West Allis Municipal Code Relating to Violation of health orders and emergency orders Sponsors: Alderperson Lajsic A motion was made by Ald. Lajsic, seconded by Ald. Haass, that this matter was Passed. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 10 - Ald. Barczak, Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. May, Ald. Haass, Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Reinke, Ald. O-2020-0011 Ordinance to Create Section 9.02(1m) of the West Allis Municipal Code Relating to the authorization for “Class B” licenses to sell intoxicating liquor in the original package or container. Sponsors: Alderperson Stefanski A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. Stefanski, that this matter was Passed. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 10 - Ald. Barczak, Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. May, Ald. Haass, Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Reinke, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Stefanski, Ald. Vitale, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 G. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ald. Lajsic, seconded by Ald. Stefanski, to adjourn at 5:18 p.m., with the next scheduled meeting to be held on April 21, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. The motion carried unanimously. LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY STATEMENT It is the policy of the City of West Allis to provide language access services to populations of persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) who are eligible to be served or likely to be directly affected by our programs.
