REGULAR MEETING
A. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dan Devine, Chair at 4:00 p.m.
B. ROLL CALL
Present 5- Ms. Karen Mikolajewski, Mr. Devan Gracyalny, Ms. Barbara Hart, Mr. Ray Nazer, and Mr.
John Noll
Excused 1- Ms. Patricia Wolfe
C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. 17-00252 Minutes (draft) September 21, 2017
A motion was made by Mr. Nazer, seconded by Ms. Mikolajewski that this matter be Approved.

D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS
2. 17-00253 Financial Report - Devan Gracyalny, Vice Chair/Treasurer.
Mr. Gracyalny asked that the Commission consider reimbursing him $20 for
purchasing the History of the Milwaukee Mile Book. The Commission voted to
reimburse Mr. Gracyalny for the purchase.
Mr. Gracyalny reported that the balance of the budget was $4,761.50.
A motion was made by Ms. Hart, seconded by Mr. Noll that this matter be Approved.

E. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION
3. 17-00254 Report from the West Allis Historical Society.
The Annual Fall Banquet will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 5:30
p.m.
4. 17-00255 Status Reports - Historical Commission Projects and Activities.
A. Log Schoolhouse
The chinking of the logs at the Log School needs to be addressed.
Mr. Gracyalny indicated that Tom Kaifish had looked at the damaged gas meter

cover and would work on a solution to the issue.
B. Seneca Station
The Commission reminded Mr. Mueller to request Christmas Tree Lights at the
Seneca Station from Public Works.
C. Settlers Weekend
There will be an October 30, 2017 wrap up meeting.
5. 17-00257 Doors Open 2017 Event Review.
The Doors Open event was very well attended with over 850 individuals attending
the Seneca Station.
6. 17-00258 Log Cabin Rededication - 20 years.
Barb Hart provided an old program which had a list of the former Committee
Members on it. Mr. Mueller indicated he had paperwork in his office which
could help provide additional information as to whom to invite.
Further discussion ensued regarding:
a. Invitations.
b. Westallion - getting a recipe for period beers.
c. Consider just serving lemonade and popcorn.
F. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the committee, a motion was made
by Karen Mikolajewski, seconded by Ray Nazer to adjourn the meeting at 5:04
p.m. The motion carried unanimously.

All meetings of the Historical Commission are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must
