Barczak, Ald. Vitale, Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Probst, and Ald. Reinke C. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2016-0628 Discussion on new lead water service replacement program. There were no new updates except that an alderperson requested that when the program is finalized that it be brought to the Committee of the Whole for discussion and action. The Council President agreed. No Action Taken. 2016-0592 Discussion regarding the City’s recycling program. The Director of Public Works/City Engineer updated the Board on the proposed recycling program. We are waiting for the final proposal from the City of Milwaukee for processing services, which should be coming soon. Public Works is also working with the current recycling processor, West Allis Salvage, for a contract extension to April 1st. They have offered $7.50 per ton to the City for 2017 for continuing the current “bag” system. Coordinating the start of the program, delivery of the new carts, getting the word out to residents, etc. is proving difficult, but it’s the feeling that if we need a little more time for a successful start-up, so be it. This matter was Discussed. 2016-0663 Discussion on request from Stephanie Tesch to have a fundraising run/walk on April 1, 2017 from Rainbow Park. The Board, and especially the District 3 alderpersons, has expressed many concerns about this request to hold a fundraising run/walk in April of 2017 in Rainbow Park. They asked the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to forward those concerns to Ms. Tesch and request that she and/or representatives attend a future Board meeting soon to discuss the event. This matter was Discussed. D. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. City of West Allis Page 1 Printed on 1/9/2017
