R-2017-0129 Resolution relative to accepting the proposal of Cintas for furnishing public bathroom cleaning services at Reservoir Park, Veterans Park and Klentz Park for an estimated annual cost of $10,000 and authorizing up to $40,000 for the purchase and installation of security cameras and automated/programmable bathroom locks at the Parks. The costs involved installing new door locks and security cameras along with other miscellaneous issues. Estimates for the door locks were in the range of $5,000 to $8,000. The one estimate for security cameras at Reservoir Park was $30,000. Security camera estimates for Klentz and Veterans Parks were not available. Since opening the bathrooms is a priority and time is of the essence, the Director of Public Works asked for the authority to install whatever equipment is necessary to open the bathrooms. The Board amended the resolution accordingly with Alderman Lajsic moving to amend and Alderwoman Reinke seconding the motion to amend, motion passed 4-0. Alderman Lajsic moved with Alderwoman Reinke seconding the motion to adopt the resolution as amended. Motion passed 4-0. The Administration and Finance Committee later that night authorized the Director of Public Works to spend up to $10,000 on cleaning services for Reservoir, Veterans and Klentz Parks and up to $40,000 on related door locks, security cameras and other miscellaneous equipment.
