The regular meeting of the Mayor and Council was held in the Council room of West
Point City Hall June 12, 2017 at 5:30 P.M. with Pro-Tem Steven M. Tramell presiding.

Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox
Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell called Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter for opening prayer.
Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell led the Pledge of allegiance.
Mayor Pro-Tem Steven Tramell thanked Commissioner Lewis Davis and Jim Wood for
them attending the council meetings.
Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell called the meeting of the Mayor and City Council to order and
welcomed everyone.
MINUTES
Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the May 8, 2017
regular meeting. Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III made said motion and was
seconded by Councilmember Sandra Thornton; the minutes were approved
unanimously without change.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter presented the May financial report with the June
cash position and forecast and made a motion to accept the report; motion seconded by
Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall and passed unanimously.
AGENDA
Mayor Pro-Tem asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Councilmember Gerald W.
Ledbetter made said motion and seconded by Councilmember Sandra Thornton; passed
unanimously.

YOUTH CENTER LEASE
Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III made a motion to approve the Youth Center Lease
Agreement; seconded by Councilmember Sandra Thornton; passed unanimously.
KEEP TROUP BEAUTIFUL BOARD APPOINTMENT
Councilmember Sandra Thornton made a motion to appoint Tyrone Roberts to the Keep
Troup Beautiful Board for a three (3) year term. The term will begin June 30, 2017 and
expire June 30, 2020. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox;
passed unanimously.
MEETING DATES
Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall made a motion to cancel the following meeting of the
West Point Mayor and City Council. The June 27th work session, July 6th work session,
and the July 10th business meeting. They have other meeting that conflict with the
current schedule. The West Point Mayor and City Council meetings will resume on
Tuesday, July 25th at 5:30 p.m. and continue with the posted schedule. The motion was
seconded by Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter; passed unanimously.
RECOGNIZE TELVIN HODO
Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox on behalf of the Mayor and Council presented
Telvin Hodo with a plaque for his leadership, commitment, sacrifice, and dedicated
service to our community for his work with the King Program.
OTHER
Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Tramell the Fuller Center is building a house on Frank Hall Jr.
Street. He asked everyone to come by for a viewing.

Mayor Pro-Tem Steve M. Tramell asked for a motion to adjourn. Councilmember Joseph
R. Downs III made said motion, seconded by Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall; passed
unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
