Page 1 of 2 The regular meeting of the Mayor and Council was held in the Council room of West Point City Hall November 13, 2017 at 5:30 P.M. with Pro-Tem Steven M. Tramell presiding. Members Present: Members Absent: Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III Councilmember Sandra Thornton Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox Mayor Pro-Tem Steve M. Tramell called Rev. John Fredrick, West Side Baptist Church Lanett, AL for opening prayer. Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell led the Pledge of allegiance. Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell called the meeting of the Mayor and City Council to order and welcomed everyone. MINUTES Mayor Pro-Tem Tramell asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the October 9, 2017 regular meeting. Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter made said motion and was seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III; the minutes were approved unanimously without change. FINANCIAL REPORT Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter presented the October financial report with the November cash position and forecast and made a motion to accept the report; motion seconded by Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall and passed unanimously. AGENDA Mayor Pro-Tem asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall made said motion and seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III; passed unanimously. 1 Page 2 of 2 2 Hour Parking Councilmember Benjamin F. Wilcox made a motion to approve both sides of the streets on 3rd Avenue between West 7th Street and West 8th Street between 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue to be designated as 2-hour parking during the hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enforcement will begin when signs are posted along the approve streets. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III; passed unanimously. OTHER Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Tramell asked for volunteers to help the Salvation Army Bag Toys for needy Children on December 4th through 9th in LaGrange. Councilmember Gerald W. Ledbetter asked the Council and citizens to keep the Carol Evans family in their prayers. Councilmember Ben Wilcox thanked the West Point Police Department and all who helped to make the Chick-fil-A Rivalry Restaurant event a success. ADJOURN Mayor Pro-Tem Steve M. Tramell asked for a motion to adjourn. Councilmember Joseph R. Downs III made said motion, seconded by Councilmember Gloria R. Marshall; passed unanimously.
