Westminster Historic District Commission MINUTES OF MEETING Wednesday, November 19, 2014 City Hall, 6:30 PM 1. Call to Order – Chairman Kris McMasters opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the Call to Order a. Statement of Authority—The Westminster Historic District Commission derives its authority Chapter 164, Article 9A of the City Code; which is derived from Article 66B, Section 8 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The qualifications of the Westminster Historic District Commission are on file at the City Administration Building, 56 W. Main Street; the file is open to the public. b. The Roll Call was answered by Chairman McMasters, Dean Camlin, Kevin Wagman and Sherry Hosfeld-Joseph. 2. Approval of Minutes a. No minutes to approve. 3. Public Hearings a. None scheduled. 4. Old Business a. 2014 Historic Holiday House Tour—Willis Street The residents with houses on the tour joined the Commission to review and approve the booklet for the House Tour. Photos have been taken for each house and the owner asked to select one for inclusion in the booklet. Susan Thomas reviewed the entertainment schedule. The tickets will be sold at City Hall and the Church of the Ascension and cider and cookies will be available in each location. Each owner will receive a basket of booklets and lanyards for the tickets. 5. New Business a) The Commission reviewed the Façade Improvement Grant application for 43 North Court Street and approved the application to be forwarded to the Historic Trust. b) The Commission also established the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. as the meeting schedule for 2015. 6. Commissioner Reports a. Chairman MacMasters discuss the mini-grant program of the Civil War Heritage Area which could be used for a Preservation Month Activity. Up to $1500 can be requested for each grant. 7. Staff Report – No staff reports 8. Public Comment – No public comment 9. Adjournment – The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
