CITY OF WESTMINSTER HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION HISTORIC TAX CREDIT PROGRAM TRAINING Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 7 PM Westminster Branch Library, 50 East Main Street In attendance were Chair, Kristen McMasters, Vice-Chair, Dean Camlin, and Commissioner Kevin Wagman. City staff: Andrew Gray was present. The Historic Tax Credit Program Training started at 7:00 PM. Commission members presented information related to the Historic Tax Credit Program including a map of the National Historic District and information regarding the percentage of eligible work a property owner can receive as a rebate to their municipal taxes. The Commissioner’s backgrounds include preservation, archaeology, architecture, history, and business. They have direct personal experience repairing, renovating, or modernizing their own homes or commercial buildings. Commissioners were able to pass their knowledge and experience along to members of the general public. No items were voted on during this public training program. The minutes of the September 6, 2017 meeting will be voted on during the November meeting of the Historic District Commission.

The City of Westminster’s Historic District Commission invites you to parƟcipate in the local Historic Tax Credit program. An important responsibility of the Historic District Commission is educaƟng ciƟzens about local history. This emphasizes the importance of preserving older homes and buildings, oŌen with the help of historic tax credits. The Commissioners’ backgrounds include preservation, archĂeology, architecture, history, and business. They have direct personal experience repairing, renovaƟng, ormodernizing their own homes or commercial buildings.
