CITY OF WESTMINSTER TREE COMMISSION MEETING SUMMARY Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 7 PM 56 West Main Street, 4:30 PM 1. Attendance Commissioners – Steve Allgeier, Chair and Commissioner Cindy May Staff –Andrew Gray, Eric Schlitzer, Samantha Parthree Attendees – Jessica Fitzgerald and Christian Fitzpatrick 2. Approval of Minutes a. There was no quorum. The February 10, 2016 meeting minutes were not voted on. 3. New Business a. 2016 Community Forestry Workshop – The Commission confirmed that Jim Urban would be the keynote for the 2016 Community Forestry Workshop. Other speakers include:  Ashley Jones - Maryland Department of Agriculture.  Dr. Neil Hendrickson – Bartlett Tree Experts  Dr. Michael Raupp – University of Maryland The Forestry Workshop admission fee will be $80.00 for early bird tickets and $95.00 for regular admission. Admission is $35.00 with a valid student ID. City staff will explore using Eventbrite or ACTIVE Net as an alternative form of registration. 4. Commissioner Reports Chair Allgeier will be working with Councilperson Becker to get McDaniel College recognized as a Tree Campus USA.  Commissioner May mentioned that trees have been cut along Center Street next to Target. Mr. Schlitzer noted that West Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Street Trees were pruned. Adopted November 9, 2016
