OFFICIAL MEETING MINUTES SOUTH AREA FIRE & EMERGENCY RESPONSE DISTRICT Board of Directors Meeting Wednesday, February 9, 2022 @ 17:00 A. Call to Order The meeting of the South Area Fire & Emergency Response District Board of Directors was called to order at 17:05 by SAFER Vice Chairman Mark Maloney. Members Present Board of Directors – Langenhahn, Maloney, Opall via Google Meet, Schaefer and White were all present. Also present: Attorney VanderWaal; SAFER – Interim Fire Chief Finke, Interim Deputy Fire Chief Lang, and Administrative Assistant Latimer. B. Correspondence/Comments from the public on issues related to the SAFER District None C. Business Items 17:06 Motion by Schaefer to adjourn into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) for the purpose of considering the employment status of a public employee over which the Fire District Board exercises jurisdiction, including discussion regarding employee resignation. Second by Langenhahn. Roll-call vote: NAME: Aye Nay Langenhahn X Maloney X Schaefer X White X Opall X Motion carried 5:0. 17:32 Motion by Schaefer to convene into open session. Second by Langenhahn. Motion carried 5:0. Discussion and possible action on closed session agenda item. Action: Motioned by White to accept the Resignation Agreement and Release of All Claims for Matt Savage. Second by Schaefer. Motion carried 5:0. Roll-call vote: NAME: Aye Nay Langenhahn X Maloney X Schaefer X White X Opall X Motion carried 5:0. Attorney Referral. - None. D. Staff Reports Report from Interim Fire Chief - Interim Fire Chief Finke said the vast majority of our department is going through an Advanced Hazmat Life Support class yesterday, today and tomorrow. I wanted to thank Emergency Management from the County, because they did a lot of work to get it here and get it paid for from either Federal or State money. It’s a $20,000.00 class otherwise. Report from Interim Deputy Fire Chief - None. E. Adjourn Motion by Opall to adjourn. Second by Langenhahn. Motion carried 5:0. Maloney adjourned at 17:34

A. Opening of Session. 1. Meeting to be called to order by Vice Chairman Maloney at 17:00. 2. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 3. Clerk will take attendance and roll call. B. Correspondence/Comments from the public on issues or matters which the SAFER Board of Directors has oversight over. C. Business Items 5. Consideration of motion to adjourn into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) for the purpose of considering the employment status of a public employee over which the Fire District Board exercises jurisdiction, including discussion regarding employee resignation. 6. Adjourn This notice is posted at the Rib Mountain and Weston Municipal Centers, and on SAFER District’s website at www.saferfd.com, and was emailed to local media outlets at least 24 hours prior to above scheduled meeting. A quorum of members from other SAFER District, Town of Rib Mountain, and Village of Weston governmental bodies (boards, commissions, and committees) may attend the above noticed meeting to gather information. No actions will be taken by any other board, commission, or committee of SAFER / Town / Village, aside from the SAFER Board of Directors. Should a quorum of other government bodies be present, this would constitute a meeting pursuant to State ex rel. Badke v. Greendale Village Bd., 173 Wis.2d 553,494 N.W.2d 408 (1993). Wisconsin State Statutes require all agendas for public meetings be posted in final form, 24 hours prior to the meeting. Any posted agenda is subject to change up until 24 hours prior to the date and time of the meeting. Any person who has a qualifying disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act requires that meeting or material to be in accessible location or format must contact South Area Fire & Emergency Response District at 715-355-6763 opt. 5, at least 12 hours prior to the meeting so any necessary arrangements can be made to accommodate each request.
