SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
May 24, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
1. Call to Order.
President Ermeling called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
2. Roll Call.
Roll call indicated 7 Board of Trustee members present.

3. Move into Closed Session.
Move into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. Sec. 19.85(1)(b) to consider the dismissal,
demotion, licensing or discipline of any public employee or person licensed by a board or
commission or the investigation of charges against such person, and the taking of formal
action on any such matter; provided that the public employee is given actual notice of any
evidentiary hearing which may be held prior to final action being taken and of any meeting
at which final action may be taken. The notice shall contain a statement that the person has
the right to demand that the evidentiary hearing or meeting be held in open session. This
paragraph and par. (f) do not apply to any such evidentiary hearing or meeting where the
employee requests that an open session be held. To wit, the Village Administrator.
Motion by Sparks, second by Maloney to convene into closed session.

5. Discussion and possible action on the dismissal, demotion, or discipline of the
Village Administrator.
Motion by Sparks, second by Ostrowski to issue a 30 work-day, unpaid suspension
to Administrator Guild for breach of his employment agreement. During the
suspension, Administrator Guild will not accumulate any PTO time, but can use his
current PTO bank towards the suspension during the 30-day suspension. The Board
of Trustees will work with the village attorney on an amended employment
agreement. Failure to accept and/or abide by the terms of the new agreement will be
grounds for termination."

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
TO THE HONORABLE PRESIDENT ERMELING AND SIX (6) OTHER ELECTED MEMBERS
OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES: The following items were listed on the agenda in the village
Clerk’s office, in accordance with Chapter 2 of the village’s Municipal Code and will be ready for
your consideration, during the 22nd session of the Board of Trustees, at your gathering on May
24, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. in the Board Room, at the Weston Municipal Center.
A quorum of members from other Village governmental bodies (boards, commissions, and
committees) may attend the above-noticed meeting to gather information. If a quorum of other
government bodies are present this would constitute a meeting pursuant to “State of Wisconsin ex
rel. Badke v. Greendale Village Bd., 173 Wis.2d 553,494 N.W.2d 408 (1993)”. Therefore, no official
actions other than those of the BOARD OF TRUSTEES shall take place.
Wisconsin State Statutes require all agendas for Board, Commission, and Committee meetings
be posted in final form, 24 hours prior to the meeting. Any posted agenda is subject to change
up until 24 hours prior to the date and time of the meeting. Any item on this agenda may be
discussed or acted upon.
