Discussion and/or action on Weston Avenue (CR-X to Ryan St.) Redesign (on recording https://youtu.be/d6LQZ4Zp5oQ?t=5017) Wodalski explained that state laws have changed in that a municipality can no longer use condemnation procedures for a sidewalk or anything that would be used for non- vehicles. A few property owners on Weston Avenue have been adamant not to sell their property if it is going to be used by pedestrians. Because of this, the roadway will have to be made wider to accommodate pedestrians on the shoulder. The original plan was to have a multiuse path on this project, but the Village is not able to do that now. Board members expressed their wish for a curb with a sidewalk on the north side of the road to accommodate pedestrians and keep them separate from traffic. It was directed that staff work on potential options for a curb and sidewalk. Motion by Pinsonneault, second by Hartinger to authorize staff to work with AECOM to redesign Weston Avenue from CR-X to Ryan Street to remove the multi-use path from the north side of the road and add additional width to the shoulders and additionally ask that sidewalk is added, a pedestrian accommodation, separate from roadway by a curb so it is not constructed how Ross Avenue is at this time.
