Minutes for Wednesday, November 14, 2018
OPENING OF THE MEETING
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:34pm.
2. Statement of Adequate Notice

ROLL CALL
1. Present: Lauren Letizia, Michael Malation, Lisa Marinkovic, and Alena Bohacova.
2. Not Present: Grace Pesanti, Councilwoman Erin Collins, Maureen Murray, James
Whelan, and G. Dietrich, consultant, not requested for participation at this meeting based
on agenda items.
MINUTES
1. Approval of August 2018 minutes – tabled until next week.
2. Approval of September 2018 minutes – tabled until next week.
3. Approval of October 2018 minute – tabled until next week.
E. Collins is looking into procedure for approving minutes in the event there is no quorum of
same members.
PROCEDURAL
1. Membership - Reclassification & New Members
a. Lisa Marinkovic, Member Class C (to replace David Hohmann, expires at end of
2019)
b. Maureen Murray, Alternate 1 (to replace Lisa Marinkovic, exp. 2019)
c. OPEN, Member Class C (to replace Maureen Murray, exp. 2021). Camille
Sasena came to the meeting and expressed interest in membership for the Class C.
d. OPEN, Alternate 2
e. Discussion of attendance matters.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Email from Zak Lubchansky (Representative from Crowley Company - Digitization
Project) on November 5, 2018.
STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS and VOUCHERS
1. YTD Spending Report - L. Letizia. Our current balance is $1258.55 of the annual
budget of $4,500 and the YTD is $3241.45.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Train Station Nomination Status Update - L. Letizia
a. Listed on NJ State Historic Register as of October 29, 2018. It is yet to be
published to the State website.
i. Submitted to National Register for review. In about 30 calendar days the
Commission should hear from the National Register. By our next
meeting in December 2018 to we should know whether the train station
will be listed on the Nation Register.

b. Purchase of a Sign / Dedication. We have until Q1 to submit the purchase order.
Arista Trophies – recommended by the National Park Service 18 x 24 inches
marker for $1,415.00. Motion to approve a purchase order for $965.00
(representing the balance of the HPC budget) in order to purchase the sign by L.
Letizia and 2nd by A. Bohacova. All in favor.
i. Discussion of the relationship between HPC and Heritage Society.
2. 84 Washington Ave - J. Whelan / E. Collins – tabled until next week. E Collins
brought it up in closed session with Mayor and Council and she is waiting to hear from
Ben about the engineering report.
3. Certified Local Government - Ordinance Review Subcommittee. Jonathan Kinney of
Historic Preservation Office suggested few revisions to our Ordinance. Open discussion
regarding proposed changed and amendment to the current ordinance consistent with the
Commission’s purpose and spirit. Once the changes are finalized, E. Collins will present
it to the Mayor and Council.
4. Training Status & Opportunities - L. Letizia – no update at this time.
NEW BUSINESS – no update this time.
