WHITEFISH ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES May 16, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Diane Kane, chair, at 8:15 AM PRESENT: Christine Bleyhl, Grant Hughes, Diane Kane, Ryan Kiefer, Paul McElroy ABSENT: Leslie Lowe, Tracy Rossi STAFF: Wendy Compton-Ring PUBLIC COMMENT: none MINUTES: The minutes from May 2, 2023 were unanimously approved. OLD BUSINESS none NEW BUSINESS Vanee Townhouse, 502 Dakota Avenue, Lyndon Steinmetz (ARC 23-14) The applicant described the project, location and relationship to the building to the north. Updated the building to ensure the south eave doesn’t encroach into the easement and extended the front door porch a bit more. The applicant described the exterior, building materials and their application. Ryan – concerned with the south façade with long flat wall Christine – perhaps the siding can be changed to help? The Committee discussed various options to improve the south elevation and various application of materials Motion: Christine – move to approve the project subject to board and batten on 1st floor and includes an eyebrow ‘roof’ from the front entry on the south toward the front Ryan – 2nd Discussion: none Vote: motion passes unanimously OTHER ITEMS Staff updated the ARC on various legislation that could impact their work. Staff will update once the bills are approved by the Governor. The Board cancelled the July 4th meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:54 AM 1
