Sustainable Tourism Management Plan Standing Committee May 23, 2023 @ 2:00 P.M. City Council Conference Room Minutes 1) CALL TO ORDER City Clerk Michelle Howke called the meeting to order. Committee members present were Brian Schott, Heather Cauffman, Mariah Joos, Nick Polumbus, Ella Kobelt, Mark Piscoli, Stephen Kane, Elizabeth Colley, Michelle Howke and Julie Mullens, Executive Director for Explore Whitefish. 2) APPOINT OFFICERS – PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, SECRETARY Heather made a motion, seconded by Nick to appoint Brian Schott as the Chair, Ella Kobelt as Vice Chair and Michelle Howke as Secretary. The motion carried. 3) REVIEW SUSTAINABLE TOURISM MANAGEMENT PLAN Brian reviewed the Sustainable Tourism Management Plan. 4) DISCUSS AND CREATE GOALS OF THE COMMITTEE After some discussion the Committee created goals to work on: 1) Interact with other committee members. 2) Data collection 3) Education and Outreach 4) Update the plan for structure and a consultant. 5) Appling the plan to tourism management 5) PUBLIC COMMENT N/A 6) SET MEETING DATES/NEXT MEETING June 20, 2023 @ 2:00 pm. 7) ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 3:49 pm.
