CAP Standing Committee Meeting Online via WebEx February 17, 2021 In Attendance Committee Members: Hilary Lindh, Karin Hilding, Liz Records, Casey Lewis, Ryder Delaloye, Kate McMahon, Robin Paone A. Meeting called to order at 5:32 pm B. Approval of Minutes – January minutes unanimously approved C. Climate Action Budget Priorities for the City a. Overview and Prioritization for the City- Karin presented spreadsheet of action items created by the committee. The goal of the committee is to narrow down these items and prioritize them to present to the directors as they work on their budgets. The committee discussed the Climate Resilience/Sustainability Coordinator position as high priority to implement action items. Budgeting for intern position also a possibility. Karin will color-code the spreadsheet to reflect which items are feasible and which items are already happening. Committee members are to select top three priorities to present to directors- to be emailed to Karin. b. Net Zero Events- Liz Records presented Cost Analysis to committee of the supplies needed for the City to offer zero waste events c. Community Compost Kate presented Action Plan to committee and committee discussed grant opportunities to cover the costs of both the Net Zero Events and Community Compost. D. Planning for Earth Day- Committee discussed presenting an Earth Day proclamation to the council, Hilary will prepare. Committee discussed other possible virtual events for Earth Day- Liz will research Parks and Recreation. Ryder would like the committee to consider using the Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship to host classes to educate the community about the action items that the committee sees as priority. He proposed the idea of offering three programs if the committee could establish what they are and who would instruct. Kate McMahon said Climate Smart may be interested in hosting a program at CSE. The committee will post Climate Smart’s virtual web series and the CSE’s course schedule to our webpage. E. Public Comment- none F. Adjournment – Meeting adjourned at 7:07 pm Next meeting: March 17
