Board of Aldermen Meeting

CITY OF WILLARD BOARD OF ALDERMEN SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 25TH, 2007 7:00 P.M. Board present: Mayor Thomas J. Keltner; Aldermen Charles Whitehead; Aldermen Gordon O’Quinn; and Aldermen Richard Simpson. Aldermen Bill Caplinger was not present. Also in attendance: City Administrator, Fred Gress; City Clerk, Kathy Blakemore; Director of Development, Randy Brown; and Director of Public Works, Charlie Jones. Mayor Thomas J. Keltner called the meeting to order. City Administrator Fred Gress discussed debris removal from the ice storm. Fred stated that Willard has about 50 to 100 cubic yards of debris to remove. Willard Recreation Center is designated as a burn site at this time. Willard citizens can bring there debris to this site from 7:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and Sunday 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Board agreed to have the site open on Sunday afternoon. All overtime pay the city will be reimbursed 85% from FEMA. The city is responsibly for 15%. Fred stated that the City of Willard may piggy back with Greene County on the cleanup process. Willard Public Works Department is going to pick up debris in the new subdivisions. The bids are due Monday at Greene County. The County estimates 2 to 3 million to get all of Greene County cleaned up. City Administrator Fred Gress requested approval to advertise for bids for the hangers that are left in the trees over all the city right-of-ways. Motion made by Richard Simpson with second by Charles Whitehead to approve the city to advertise for bids for all the hangers in the city right-of-ways. All votes yes. Motion carried. City Administrator Fred Gress requested approval to research leasing a dump truck. Motion made by Richard Simpson with second by Charles Whitehead to approve the city researching leasing a dump truck. All votes yes. Motion carried.
