Board of Aldermen Meeting

CITY OF WILLARD BOARD OF ALDERMAN Work Study Session June 4, 2012 7:00 p. m. Board present: - Alderman Hemphill-present, Mayor Keltner-present, Alderman Vincent-present, Alderman Simmons-present, Alderman Johnson- present, Alderman Roggensees-present and Alderman Trapp present. Staff present: City Clerk, Dale Duvall; City Administrator; Nicholas Heatherly and Public Works Director Justin Reaves. Citizens in attendance: Millie Peterson. Mayor Tom Keltner led the Pledge of Allegiance. Call to Order -Mayor Tom Keltner called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll Call -The City Clerk called the roll call. Alderman Trapp-present, Alderman Roggensees-present, Alderman Hemphill-present, Mayor Keltner-present, Alderman Johnson--present, Alderman Vincent- present and Alderman Simmons-present. 2012 Water and Sewer Rate Study Presentation/Discussion- The City Administrator presented the results of the study and made a staff recommendation for the Board to accept the following rates: Wastewater Base-$22.63 Wastewater Volume-$5.05 per 1000 gallons Water Base-$12.00 Water Volume-$2.25 per 1000 gallons After discussion among the Board and the City Administrator, a MOTION was made by Alderman Simmons with a second by Alderman Vincent to accept the staff’s recommendation on the rates for wastewater. Alderman Simmons-Aye, Alderman Trapp-Aye, Alderman Roggensees-Aye, Alderman Hemphill-Aye, Alderman Vincent-Aye and Alderman Johnson-Aye. All votes aye. Motion carried. MOTION made by Alderman Vincent and seconded by Alderman Simmons to accept the staff’s recommendation on the rates for water. Alderman Simmons-Aye, Alderman Trapp-Aye, Alderman Roggensees-Aye, Alderman Hemphill-Nay, Alderman Vincent-Aye and Alderman Johnson-Nay. Four votes aye. Two votes Nay. Motion carried. The ordinances will be brought to the Board at the June 11, 2012 meeting for approval of 1st and 2nd reading. Adjourn Meeting- Motion was made by Alderman Simmons and seconded by Alderman Hemphill to adjourn the meeting. Alderman Simmons-Aye, Alderman Trapp-Aye, Alderman Roggensees-Aye-, Alderman Hemphill-Aye, Alderman Vincent-Aye and Alderman Johnson-Aye. All votes aye. Motion carried.
