Wes: Important for the community collaboration and clarity stability Options available: 10% and flat rate Both anticipate producing the revenue we’re needing Goal of WS is to engage in a discussion with the board and lead into the PH if choose to decide in the 7 o’clock meeting. The floor is open to discuss and ask Wes questions about the capital improvement plan. Infrastructue 2025 ballpark = 300 to 400 thousand for sewer system improvements. All have to be suppored by rates and revenues. Enterprise fund so we have to raise enough to run the system and maintain the business. Have to just take care of our own system. Things do change and we know what fees are coming up. Carl has taken all of these anticipated improvements and put them into the analysis. Have to generate the revenue by the time we need it to use it. Mayor 3-4th meeting so not sure how much more material we need to hear. Wes water advisory board bring messge in and message out and speak to the community about the needs. Joyce: Had a couple of people reach out about the concern for the increase. 2012 reduction in rates and it’s taken this long to increase so it feels large at what we’re doing so with the rate study we have a better idea of a plan to build it back. Mayor applauds all sitting here because it probably wasn’t dealt with in the past because it wasn’t easy. Leadership is making good decisions and I’m glad you’re here. Steven: 2010-2011 SGF raised rates proportionately for the cost of raising the complete system. To answer Joyce that may have been due to this. Mayor adjourn at 6:12 Public Hearing 6:30 p.m. Mayor: Stand up and speak and keep your comments to 3 minutes Wes: Comments and feedback from citizens to the board. Mayor asked for comments – Dave O’Connor can you give those here that haven’t been here in the past an overview. Wes decision by the boa in April 2024 for a rate analysis and the analysis was unpopular to the board and citizens so we’re taking another look. Situation and need hasn’t changed so he PH is to let you know the rates that are being considered. Across the board option and the other is a 10% higher rate for out of city. Dave O’Connor re-iterated the options explained by Wes. Unknown woman asked if watering the garden is taken into consideration. Mike not calculated in the summer. Larry reiterated the 10% option Jenny Williams – a large amount of water from the Meadows is being pumped into the city so she doesn’t understand why the out of town customers shouldn’t have higher rates. Mayor said it’s one system that needs to be addressed. Kelly Davis lives outside the city when you do some maintenance are you going to apply for some grants? Would like to see more fire hydrants on his street. Grants could help make some adjustments. Mayor yes and Wes has a list of capital improvements that need to be addressed and we are motivated to find money to bring back here. Monica Slatten lives in the Meadows so I ask about the sewer because we have a lagoon that is being taken out and since they’re closer to SGF New Resident – New subdivisions going in are you charging them a new charge. Mike yes they get charged for capacity and hook up. Concerned about his charges. Mike suggested he call to get a history of the residence usage. Mayor adjourned at 6:42 p.m. Mayor called the regular meeting to order at 7 p.m.
