Commission Meeting

June 21, 2023 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on June 21, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners John Clausen, Lisa Hedstrom, Jim Schacher and Pres. LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellar. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Schacher to approve the minutes from June 7, 2023 meeting as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to approve the agenda with the addition of Wayne Ruzicka under New Business. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Hedstrom to approve Tand Constructions request for payment for the sum of $656,072.57. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded Hedstrom to approve the Change Order No. 2 as presented by Moore Engineering for changes to the water and sewer improvement project. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Schacher and seconded Clausen to approve holding a public hearing on August 2, 2023 at 7:00 pm for the Wilton Public Schools request to vacate a portion of 6th Street. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded Hedstrom to approve Duane Johnsons commercial building permit to construct shop condos at 700 Whitman Avenue as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded Schacher to approve Reed Backmans application to move a 2023 modular home to 30601 Hwy 36 as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Wayne Ruzicka was present to request permission to use the Wilton lagoons as a test site for software and equipment his company is developing to measure sludge. The board had no objections to Ruzickas request. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by Clausen to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote. Aye: Comm. Clausen, Hedstrom, Schacher and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Absent: Comm. Kary. Motion carried. With no other items for discussion, Pres.
