Commission Meeting

January 3, 2024 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on January 3, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners John Clausen, Bill Kary, Jim Schacher and President LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellar. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Clausen to approve the minutes from the December 20, 2023 meeting as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by Clausen to approve the agenda with the addition of Rural Facility Grant under new business. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to approve the surveying proposal for platting and vacating of the frontage road from Moore Engineering. All present voted aye, motion carried. The proposal will also have to be approved by Cenex. Motion made by Kary approve a 4% raise for all full-time employees, motion died for lack of a second. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to approve a 3% raise for the full-time public works employees and a 2% raise for City Auditor. Aye: Comm. Clausen, Kary and Schacher. Nay: Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Motion carried. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Clausen to approve raising the Commissions monthly salary to $250.00 and the Commission Presidents salary to $412.50. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Schacher to turn an uncashed payroll check from 2018 into the North Dakota Unclaimed Property. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by Kary to the Union Bank the City of Wiltons Depository of Public Funds. Aye: Comm. Kary, Schacher and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Abstain: Comm. Clausen. Motion carried. General discussion was held about McLean County district court taking over the City of Wiltons municipal court cases. The board will reach out to the current municipal judge before making a decision. General discussion was held about the Rural Facility Grant. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote. Aye: Comm. Clausen, Kary, Schacher and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Absent: Comm. Hedstrom. Motion carried.
