Commission Meeting

June 5, 2024 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on June 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners Bill Kary, Lisa Hedstrom and Jim Schacher. In President LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellars’ absence the meeting was chaired by Comm. Schacher. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Hedstrom to approve the minutes from the May 15, 2024 meeting as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Kary to approve the minutes from the special hearing held on May 30, 2024. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Kary to approve the agenda as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. General discussion was held about 2025 budget. Comm. Hedstrom reported that no members of the public showed up for the Price Grant hearing that was held on May 31, 2024. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Hedstrom to approve the second reading and final passage of the Floodplain Management ordinance. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Hedstrom and seconded by Kary to approve the Western North Dakota Honor Flight gaming application to conduct a raffle on September 14, 2024 at the Aces Tavern. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Hedstrom to approve Wilton Dollar for Scholars gaming applications to conduct raffle, bingo and a sports pool as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Kary and seconded by Hedstrom to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote. Aye: Comm. Kary, Hedstrom and Schacher. Absent: Comm. Clausen and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Motion carried. Wilton City Attorney, LaRoy Baird passed away in May 2024. LaRoy was a past Wilton City Commissioners and City Judge. The Wilton City Commission is grateful to LaRoy for his service to our community and extends our heartfelt condolences to his wife Mary and children Jesse and Dina. With no other items for discussion Comm.
